Matthew 10:26 … “Fear them not.”

Dear Chosen one,
Please read on and remain blessed…
************************************
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
Fear them not therefore; for there is nothing covered which shall not be revealed, and secret which shall not be known.
*************************************
10:26 Fear them not. The disciple’s work for Christ and their battle against Satan will expose them to Satan’s counterattack (vv. 16 – 25); yet they do not need to be afraid, because the Holy Spirit and the Father will sustain them (vv. 20,29-31). They must remain faithful to Word of Christ, preaching openly, frankly and courageously.

“Don’t be bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There’s nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands.
“Never be afraid of those who can kill the body but are powerless to kill the soul! Far better to stand in awe of the one who has the power to destroy body and soul in the fires of destruction!
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
********************************************
We need not fear satan we only need to fear God. God is forever greater than satan and any other person or power in existence or in our imaginations. Who can we compare to You oh God! Who can ever be like you. Fear God in that we fear not being in His Presence and not dwelling with Him forever in eternity. Fear God, not man, never satan.
IN THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE AND THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT,

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT STUDY BIBLE NOTES

10:28 hell. The word here translated “hell” (Gk geenna; see Jer 7:31, note) refers to a place of eternal torment reserved for the ungodly (cf. Mark 9:43,48). The Bible teaches that one’s existence does not end at death but continue on forever, either in the presence of God or in a place of punishment. Note the following about the state of the lost:

(1)  Jesus teaches that there is a place of eternal punishment for those condemned before God (see 5:22,29-30; 18:9; 23:15,33; Mark 9:43,45,47;Luke 10:15; 12:5). It is the terrifying reality of continuous punishment, the place of a fire that never shall be quenched” (Mark 9:23), of “everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt 25:41), of “wailing and gnashing of teeth” (13:42,50), of binding and darkness (22:13), and of torment and agony and separation from heaven (Luke 16:23).

(2) The teaching of the epistles is essentially the same. The apostles speak of a coming judgment of God to inflict vengeance on those who disobey the gospel (2 Thes 1:5-9), of a separation from the presence and glory of the Lord (2 Thes 1:9) and of the destruction of God’s enemies (Phil 3:18-19; see also Rom 9:22; 1 Cor 16:22; Gal 1:9: 2 Tim2:12; Heb 10:27; 2 Pet 2:4; Jude 1:7: Rev 14:10; 19:20; 20:10,14).

(3) The Bible teaches that judgment for evildoers is certain. The main idea is a place of punishment and separation from God with no end to its duration. Even Christians may find this doctrine unpleasant or hard to understand. Yet we must submit to the authority of God’s Word and trust God’s decision and justice.

(4) We must always keep in mind that God sent His Son to die in order that no one should perish (John 3:16). Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels (25:41); God does not desire to send any of His human creation there (2 Pet 3:9). Those who in the end go to hell do so because they have resisted God’s grace and rejected God’s provision of salvation (Rom 1:16–2:10).

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT STUDY BIBLE NOTES

Genesis 35:2 Put away the strange gods. After the terrible events of ch. 34, God directed Jacob’s family to go to Bethel in order to bring him into closer obedience to His word. Jacob, realizing the depth of spiritual deterioration in his family, commanded all the members of his house to “Put away the strange gods that are among you.” This spiritual renewal of the life of Jacob’s family consisted in: (1) removing from their home everything that offended God (v. 2); (2) committing themselves to personal holiness (v.2); (3) renewing their vows to God in devotion and worship (v. 7; 28:20 – 22); (4) entering fellowship with God (v. 9); (5) and leading lives based on God’s Word (vv. 10-15) and spiritual sacrifice (v.14). Because of Jacob’s renewal, he again experienced God’s protection, presence, revelation and blessing (vv. 5, 9 – 13).

And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord. And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT STUDY BIBLE NOTES

7:1 Judge not. Jesus condemns the habit of criticizing others while ignoring one’s own faults. Believers must first submit themselves to God’s righteous standard before attempting to examine and influence the conduct of other Christians (vv. 3-5). Judging in an unjust manner also includes condemning a wrongdoer without desiring to see the offender return to God and His ways (Luke 6:36-37).

(1) Christ is not denying the necessity of exercising a certain degree of discernment or of making value judgements with respect to sin in others. Elsewhere we are commanded to identify false ministers within the church (v. 15) and to evaluate the character of individuals (Mat 7:6; cf. John 7:24; 1 Cor 5:12; see Gal 1:9, note; 1 Tim 4:1, note; 1 John 4:1).

(2) This verse must not be used as an excuse for laxity in exercising church discipline (see Mat 18:15, note).

29:28 [Laban] gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also. Jacob’s marriage to two sisters conflicted with God’s creation ordinance that marriage should consist of only one man and one woman (see 2:24, note; cf. Ex 20:17; Deut 5:21). Later in the Mosaic Law, God specifically forbade Jacob’s type of marriage (Lev 18:18). The NT revelation regards monogamy (one wife and one husband) as the only rightful form of marriage (Mat 19:4-16; Mark 10:4-9). God may have tolerated polygamy in the OT because the people lacked a full understanding of God’s will regarding marriage and because their hearts were hard. The evil effects of polygamy are described in v. 30; 30:1; 35:22; 1 Ki 11:1-12.

6:9 Our Father … in heaven. Prayer involves worship of the heavenly Father. (1) As Father, God loves us, cares for us, and welcomes our fellowship and intimacy; through Christ we have access to Him at any time to worship Him and communicate our needs to Him (vv. 25 – 34). (2) God as Father does not mean He is like an earthly father who tolerates evil in His children or fails to discipline them correctly. God is a Father of holiness who must oppose sin. He will not tolerate evil, even in those who name Him as Father. His name must be “hallowed.” (3) Hence, as a heavenly Father he can punish us as well as bless, withhold as well as give, act with justice as well as with mercy. How He responds to His children depends on our faith in and obedience to Him.

Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: 18 for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. 19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

[Matthew] 19:9 except it be for fornication. God’s plan and standards is one man and one woman joined together in a marriage dissolvable only by death (vv. 5-6; see Gen 2:24, note SS 2:7; 4:12, notes; Mal 2:14, note). To this Jesus gives an exception, namely, “fornication.” Fornication is marital unfaithfulness (Gk porneia) and includes adultery or any kind of sexual immorality (cf. 5:32). Therefore, divorce is permitted when sexual immorality is involved. The following are important Biblical facts concerning divorce. (1) When Jesus criticizes divorce in vv. 7 – 8, He is not criticizing a separation because of adultery, but a divorce permitted in the OT in those cases where a husband discovered “uncleanness,” perhaps premarital unchasteness, after the marriage had taken place (Deut 24:1-4). God’s desire in such cases was that the two remain together. However, He permitted divorce due to premarital unchasteness because of the hardness of the people’s hearts (vv. 7 – 8).

(2) In the case of immorality after marriage, the OT law prescribed the dissolving of the marriage by executing both of the offending parties (Lev 20:!0; Deut 22:22). This of course, would leave the innocent person free to remarry (Rom 7:2; 1 Cor 7:39).

(3) Under the new covenant the privileges of the believer are no less. Although divorce is a tragedy, marital unfaithfulness is such a cruel sin against one’s spouse that Christ states that the innocent party has a proper right to end the marriage by a divorce. He or she is free to remarry another believer (1 Cor 7:27-28).

(4) Paul’s treatment of marriage and desertion in 1 Cor 7:12-16 indicates that a marriage also may be dissolved by desertion of an unbelieving spouse. He further indicates that remarriage by the believer in such cases is not sin (see 1 Cor 7:15, note; 7:27-28).

Matthew 15:15-20Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 these are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Romans 1:26-32Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1 Corinthians 7:1-7Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
